Budget model Apple iPhone 9 may appear with a month’s delay
Recently, there was information that Apple ordered a total of 20 million LCD panels from LG Display for its 6.1-inch model of the iPhone 9. Before that, Apple had already placed an order for the production of LCD panels in the company Japan Display Inc (JDI ). But it seems that the Cupertino people faced some production problems, which, in the long run, delayed the release of budget versions of smartphones.
According to analyst Katy Huberty (Katy Huberty), the problem with the release of OLED-displays intended for use in the iPhone X and X Plus lineup in 2018, Apple does not arise. But in the production of LCD-panel there was a problem with the innovative lighting system. It was reportedly due to the new full-screen design that Apple is striving for that made production much more difficult and ultimately postponed the shows for about four weeks, even though earlier production was six weeks behind schedule.
And although the company expects that both smartphones with OLED-displays will be popular among consumers, many experts are sure that the iPhone 9 with LCD-panel will still “beat” them by popularity because of the lower price.
